A Wedding WOW!

My boss shared this video and Washington Post article with me and I thought it was incredible!

This video has apparently exploded on YouTube recently, having received millions of hits since June, earning itself a lot of notoriety and catching the attention of The Today Show. This video is another great example of how pervasive social media has become in our lives; hanks to sites like YouTube, people are able to share their stories and experiences with others. I found this video to be really uplifting and inspiring, as the energy and love between all the people involved is completely obvious; without the social media channels we have today, I never would have been able to view this video or even know it existed.

It was really cool how the bride, groom and wedding party took a ritualistic event like a wedding and put their own twist on it to make it truly amazing. As future PR professionals, I think we can all take a lesson from this video and use it as an example of the fact that thinking outside of the box can give an event or document something special and make it that much more successful (especially when reaching out to audiences in social media channels).

The article is also very well-written.

Enjoy!

I was just talking about that video last week. A friend of mine received it in an e-mail a while back (as the wedding was someone who she went to HS with) and thought nothing of it... now it's plastered everywhere! Very funny what things take off and become hits.
